On 9-11-01, thousands of REALTORS watched as the worst case scenario for our Nation played out on tv. Many from our profession asked what we could do to help. Through our collective efforts, the REALTORS Relief Foundation was created and raised over $8,000,000 to help cover the cost of mortgage and rent payments for those families affected by the loss of life during the events of 9-11.
Every dollar donated to the Foundation is given directly to the recipients in need.
Since 2001, the REALTORS Relief Foundation has provided funds in all US catastrophes to meet the same objective. The Foundation has been run effectively, given to the fullest, and the administration of the work is paid for out of the general budget of the NAR. In short, every donated dollar is fully realized by a family in need.
As Americans, we “get” the concept of value and when it comes to charity, I can only say that this foundation is A.O.K. So the next time we’re doing laundry and there is some excess cash in the bottom of the washer or dryer; What do you say we find a way to truly get the highest value for some these old washed up $10 bills.
