Many real estate companies and agents are excited about using drones to vamp up their real estate marketing. NAR says not so fast!
The FAA only permits the commercial use of drones on a case by case basis. And the fines are steep! The University of Virginia received a $10,000 fine for their commercial use of a drone. Basically, unless you yourself hold a certificate of airworthiness from the FAA, you should refrain from this type of marketing.
The FAA is planning to release rules sometime next year. For now NAR states that members should not use drones or hire another company for their marketing.
