The Cherokee Association of REALTORS® (CAOR) Vice President of Governmental Affairs, Iva Rebecca Butler spent some time volunteering in storm ravaged Puerto Rico through the National Association of REALTORS® Members Edge program.
REALTORS® from all over the southeast, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands came together to provide thousands of meals through “Meals of Hope” to those still in need after the devastation of Hurricane Irma. “I met many employees from FEMA and various other agencies there from all over the U.S. providing and restoring Puerto Rico” stated Iva who was humbled and extremely moved by her experience there. “I will definitely go back to visit all the friends and REALTORS® I came to know”.
The National Association of REALTORS® Members edge met to discuss Disaster Planning for REALTORS®. Prepare, Survive and Thrive was the theme. Topics ranging from government assistance, rebuilding for the future, emerging technologies and The REALTOR® Relief Foundation were among the discussion.
The Cherokee Association of REALTORS® is proud to have one of our own give her time to such an outstanding program. CAOR believes in building stronger communities through volunteering, fundraising and political advocacy and will continue to seek opportunities to help both locally and abroad.
