Two REALTORS with Re/Max Town and Country have received threatening phone calls from a man posing as a buyer.
The man calls from an “unknown number” and identifies himself as “John Smith”.
On both calls he asked the agents if they could show him a property today. Both said they would need to set an appointment with him. He responded with “You don’t understand, I will hurt you or a member of your family if you don’t meet me today.”
He also made a point to each agent that he knew which office they worked from.
PLEASE use caution if you receive a call from a man asking to see a home right away. If you do receive a threatening call please file a report with the local police department.
If possible do not meet buyers alone and always let someone know where you’ll be and when to expect you to return.
Thank you and be safe.
