A quick rundown of the most important notes from the Broker Council at GAR Inaugural…
License renewals:
Any agent renewing licenses beginning January 1, 2012 will be required to present Secure and Verifiable Photo Identification and a Signed affidavit of Lawful Presence. Â The form can be found on GREC’s website and more information can be located under renewals. Â Identification and the affidavit can be presented to the commission no earlier then 5 weeks before renewal and no later than 5 days before renewal, as follows:
Submit to the GREC either in person, via fax to 404/656-6650, via e-mail at verify@grec.state.ga.us , via courier, or via U.S. mail.
Continuing Education
Good news to follow, especially if you read between the lines. Â The GA Real Estate Commission presented a proposal to change the CE requirements in order to eliminate recurring common concerns that have remained prolific over the past few years. Â In an attempt to further support the “Profession” of real estate brokerage, the proposal is as follows:
12 Hours of Continuing Education to be completed by each licensee on an annual basis. Of which, certain percentages must be completed in specific areas or training depending on license type (sales or broker)
In effect, the requirement has doubled and now must be completed on an annual cycle.  While this has not been signed into the law, it is highly likely.  GREC has developed FREE training in specific areas to address the most common complaints received by the commission.  Those classes are now active and are available on-line.
